The Australian branch of UK intimate apparel and swimwear company Eveden Group is bucking recessionary trends with standout growth, following a pricing re-structure and a nationwide blitz to educate women about fitting. Eveden specialises in catering to fuller figured women with brands including Elomi, Freya, Fauve Goddess and Fantasie.


Sportsgirl's Bourke Street Superflagship store in Melbourne has been short-listed as a finalist in The UK Retail Interiors Awards 2009 in the category of Best International Retail Interior. The store has been listed alongside ten other retail stores from around the world; including Adidas Paris, Fusion Hong Kong, Gina Dubai and Topshop New York.

A new line of high quality men's underwear and loungewear is set to hit the market later this month, as Brisbane company Bamboofx heads to Melbourne to showcase its wares at Fashion Exposed. Bamboofx proprietor Sharon Cogill described the brand's inaugural range as "not only high quality but environmentally thoughtful." 


Melbourne-based streetwear label Travisty has clinched a deal with leading fashion retailer Universal Store that will see it expand its penetration of the Queensland market from this month. Universal - which operates 15 stores located throughout Queensland, with plans to open additional outlets down the track - stocks some of Australia's most recognisable brands.


Fashion businesses now have a new portal through which to gain national and regional coverage for their brands, following the launch of sourcing website mybowerbird.com. Described by its founder as "the modern day bush telegraph, linking people across the country to the best of everything online" the site features fashion labels including Leona Edmiston, Pip Duck and Peeptoe, as well as sales and style directories and a vintage clothing segment.

The design team behind the re-brand of Fashion Exposed has launched its own blog. Melbourne boutique communications agency Taylor & Grace created The Graceful Taylor at gracefultaylor.com.au, with the aim of sharing creative inspiration in fashion, beauty, design, culture and food. "Highly professional, beautifully art directed blogs" will form a significant part of the site's content.


The upcoming launch of UK streetwear label Charles of London looks set to see Australia join the ranks of the world's hipper shopping destinations.
